My name is Genevieve Boelle, I am from Belgium and
I live in Namur.
Fifteen years ago I discovered watercolor. My love for that technique
and the success of my exhibitions rapidly turned me into a professional
artist. My most important research is with color mixing. I am
totally
absorbed by the transparency and light that can be achieved in mixing
color. I love to paint everything, landscapes in all seasons, flowers,
animals, water, seascapes and portraits.
Besides Belgium, I have had the opportunity to paint in France, in
Canada and in Africa. For the last 5 years I have been teaching
watercolor in an adult school that specializes in watercolor.
In June of
2003, I had a very successful show in Sault, France, and I received a
wonderful gift: I got to know Brigitte and Jim. Immediately we became
friends sharing our love of painting.
I spent several weeks painting with them as their guest in their home
in Provence and we shared
many hours of painting together. For
two weeks we shared the richness of
Provence, bathing in the blue of lavender fields and discovering the
souls of the old stones in the Middle Age villages.
I had the opportunity to discover a new atmosphere, the new colors of
the south as I have generally painted the cool colors of Northern
country.
Each shared moment has been a real joy for the eyes and for the heart.
Thirty of the paintings that I did on location will be exhibited again
in Sault in June 2004.
