Our travels in Provence take us to some beautifully remote villages and fields, far from the tourist spots. This tour is a sampling of spots we will visit. Enjoy these photos, and our students in action.
The Village of Brantes
Brantes is an old village perched at the Northern end of Vaucluse, at the border with Drôme. The village is held facing the Ventoux Mount on the top of the valley of the Toulourenc river.
In
the village, networks of lanes, arched passages
and old stone-built houses crown a castle offering a
sublime panorama on Ventoux. You will be able to discover local craft
workshops, such as the pottery workshop of Martine Gilles.
The tiny village of Brantes has an amazing cafe-restaurant and art gallery, La Poterne, where local artists are always on exhibit. From local photographs to inspiring sculptures, it is a lovely place to get a refreshing salad with fresh goat cheese, fabulous home made desert and draw the valley below sitting in the cool of the blossoming oleanders in the heart of paradise.
It
also includes a church built in 1684.
